Even with a mild Champagne hangover I've been walking around with a goofy grin plastered on my mug all day long. The last 24+ hours are a happy blur.
I'm prouder of my country today. Less cynical about 'promise'. And after reveling in the feeling for a day, I'm ready to get to work, to try and clean up the mess caused by the lust for money, power and privilege that was the BushCo gang.
Ready to work toward restoring the Constitution and the Rule of Law.
Anxious to see our armed forces and veterans truly supported, equipped, rested, cared for and used wisely.
Dying to see quality health care (my field) an affordable right for all citizens.
Renewable energy. Revitalized international relations. Restoration of checks and balances.
I'm willing to pay more to shore up our sagging economy, protect our environment, fund the infrastructure, create green employment, promote education and more. It is a privilege to be an American and I'm willing to pay taxes as the duty of a responsible citizen.
We've got a lot to do. There's a new man at the helm and a new course to plot. Hard to port! Let's head to the left. It's the only way to go.
Catch you later.....
